Since moving to an all volunteer military, there have been a lot of changes in the U. S. military, not the least of which is that it is now the world’s largest technical training school with over 220 occupational specialties.
In the late 1990's, two retired naval officers, Captain Ted Daywalt and Commander Keith Baker, were dismayed that corporate recruiters seemed unaware that most veterans have skills needed in the private sector. Hence, VetJobs.
VetJobs is exclusively endorsed and partially owned by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. It is consistently at the top of lists for niche job sites, and the site has been voted to the WEDDLE’s User’s Choice Award five times. The site is the only veterans' job site endorsed by the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Student Veterans of America.
The site uses a flat-fee system allowing companies unlimited postings, unlimited seats (licenses) for use, and unlimited searching.
