Veritude knows finance. And well it should, since the privately owned company was created in 1986 to meet the internal staffing needs of Fidelity Investments, one of the financial management firms in the world.
At the turn of the century, sensing an opportunity to trun the unit into a profit center, Fidelity commercialized Veritude making its services available publicly. Today the wholly owned subsidiary provides staffing, RPO, consulting and managed recruitment services not only to the financial industry but also to health care, insurance, life sciences, technology and manufacturing.
The biggest share of the business comes from its traditional staffing services, which include temp, direct hire and executive search. Since those services are historic with Veritude, moving into RPO was a natural. That part of the business taps into Veritude's existing talent pipeline, which it says is 60,000 deep.
The consulting and managed recruitment services build off Veritude's staffing experience.
The company is not the largest, of course. It hires 15,000 workers a year and has 6,500 working on any given day. Compare that to Manpower with its 5 million workers.
But Veritude is growing and has developed market expertise in IT, engineering and technology, manufacturing, call center, administrative and clerical and the clinical/scientific areas. Its clients include Boston Scientific, Varian Semiconductor and Biogen Idec. The company was named in 2008 by the Boston Business Journal as one of the region’s fastest growing private companies.
