Vangent human capital is a division of Vangent, an information technology provider with the U.S. federal government as its largest customer.
Vangent designs and builds - and staffs - information systems of all kinds. Its systems processed the 2000 census returns of 45 million Americans. It recruited and supported the hiring of some 65,000 airport screeners for the Transportation Security Administration after 9/11. From the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to the Air Force, Homeland Security and other agencies and governments, Vangent or its predecessor company, Pearson Government Solutions, has all but cornered the market on government systems. It's a near certainty that if you have engaged with the federal government in the last 10 years Vangent has been involved in some way.
But it's Vangent's human capital division that's important here and, like Vangent's other business units, government agencies and a goodly number of the Fortune 500 are clients. The division, which specializes in assessments and testing, also offers an ATS solution that builds on the parent company's technical prowess. As befits a company that has been around for more than 50 years, the offerings are broad, covering the range of talent management needs.
Vangent offers ATS, assessment tools, succession planning, organizational development tools and custom learning solutions.
Vangent’s latest talent acquisition solution automates the hiring workflow process, tracks and manages critical applicant information, and facilitates efficient, uniform, and compliant hiring practices. This new offering integrates Vangent’s pre-employment assessment content with a configurable, flexible, and comprehensive ATS, that can help drive down the cost of hire and up hiring quality.
The company's workforce expertise dates back to 1947 when founder John Reid developed the Reid Survey, one of the earliest employment testing tools. Reid Psychological Systems merged with London House to become one of the largest providers of pre-employment and management assessments. Initial product lines included The Reid Report and the Personnel Selection Inventory (PSI), both of which have become widely used assessments. Today, Vangent owns one of the largest libraries of pre-validated assessment scales in the world, and each year administers over 3 million applicant events through the Internet, IVR systems, and onsite kiosks.
