Forrester, the research and consulting firm, called Ultimate Software and its UltiPro human resource management system a "pack leader" in its analysis released late in 2008. Of UltiPro, Forrester said:
"Ultimate Software combines a well-rounded RMS solution with good cost/value factors and a strong vision and road map for continued development."
UltiPro Recruitment is a component of the company's talent management suite, which also includes performance and learning management. So if all you want is a way to post jobs, promote your careers, and receive, store, and retrieve candidate applications, look elsewhere (and perhaps reconsider your needs).
However, an integrated talent management system provides a higher level of HR performance, allowing recruiters and managers to identify and track top performers internally, and find more like them externally.
Aimed at the mid-market employer, UltiPro is available as a licensed and a SaaS product. Most employers opt for the latter, since it eliminates IT hassles and provides access anywhere there's an Internet connection.
SaaS delivery (which it somewhat awkwardly has branded Intersourcing) is an Ultimate Software strong point. In its 2008 year-end financial announcement the company said 97 percent of its new revenue came from SaaS clients.
Founded in 1990, the company's 1,700 clients include Major League Baseball, The New York Yankees Baseball Team, Nintendo of America, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Sony Music Entertainment.
Ultimate Software has won a number of awards for its technology and was named the best medium-size company to work for in America by The Great Place to Work Institute,which also produces FORTUNE’s "100 Best Companies to Work for” list for large companies.

Hospital Recommended for National Award Because of Better OFCCP Reporting (BusinessWire)
Ultimate Software, a provider of human resources, payroll, and talent management solutions, reports that its client, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a teaching hospital with 1,400 employees, his in line for a national award as a result of in-depth reporting during a federal audit.
The hospital produced detailed reports using UltiPro’s human capital management solution during an audit by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). In previous audits, before UltiPro, the hospital struggled to provide the reports requested by OFCCP auditors.
