Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Trovix, Inc. was founded in 2002. While the career/recruitment space was already heating up by that time, Trovix wanted to fix what they saw as an unmet need in the sector which was better, more intuitive technology to bridge the gulf between employers and people in search of the best career opportunities.

To do this, Trovix developed search technology that uses artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic to understand job descriptions and resumes in the same way a human does. Their story and capabilities were attractive enough to attract top-tier venture capital firms including 3i, Granite Ventures, and USVP.

The firm's first product, Trovix Recruit, put the artificial intelligence to use in an applicant tracking system. Then in September 2007, the company made a big splash by being invited to the DEMO conference, one of the high-visibility conferences for tech firms to launch new products. This time Trovix showed a new job agent -- simply titled "Trovix" -- that uses the firm's artificial intelligent engine to reach out to job-hunters (and more likely those elusive already employed passive job seekers).

Trovix Inc.’s patented solutions “understand” both the data and its users in a way that provides meaningful, human-like search results. Trovix Inc. customers include Palm, Stanford University, Hallmark, Salary.com, Trend Micro, Sanmina-SCI, Sunpower, Extreme Networks, VMware, and Rambus.
