Gregg Dourgarian wrote the first version of TempWorks as a teenager in 1975 (his father was an IT pioneer who founded Manpower's technical and payrolling operations). Dourgarian (the son) also authored and commercialized Supertrace, an airline reservation training and diagnostic system used by Air France, the Chinese government, and other organizations throughout the world. It's no surprise, given Dourgarian's background, that TempWorks is on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies.
Inc. describes the company as one that "creates software for staffing firms to manage operations from recruiting to payroll" and growing because, "The company keeps pace with current business trends, meeting demands for Web-based, paperless, and wireless solutions."
The homepage of the company's Web site succinctly states its mission: "We help staffing companies make money." It does that by automating the critical, but expense-side tasks of tracking, accounting, and data entering. The front and back office components smoothly integrate payroll, contact management, candidate management, and time cards into a seamless whole. The service is provided entirely over the Web.Products & Services

TempWorks Disaster Recovery
According to the company, "This service provides staffing firms with a complete plan for minimizing business disruption and resuming operations in the event a disaster occurs." We're a little unclear what the significance of this product is for TempWorks Enterprise clients, since data is stored offsite and the software is provided over the web. However, for companies that maintain their own records and handle the back-office entirely in-house, have an effective disaster recovery plan can mean the difference between staying in business or closing the doors.
