The company's proprietary technologies - Web Direct and Court Direct - link HR professionals to a host of pre-employment screening and background information, including access to digital court records and data. Sterling boasts 6,000 clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small- and mid-sized firms across all industries
For 33 years the company was Sterling Testing Systems, reflecting its roots in pre-employment screening and testing. Over the years, as businesses have broadened the information they want and government regulations have imposed tougher standards, Sterling has expanded its services. Today the company offers both pre- and post-employment services.
To reflect its 21st century service menu and, presumably, to signal a still broader range of services in the future, Sterling changed its name in June 2008 to Sterling InfoSystems.
