The homepage of the Recruiter Academy states the case clearly, if indelicately: "Did you go to college to be a recruiter."
The answer of course is "No," which begets the next question one: "How did you learn?" And that's where the Recruiter Academy comes in. It's a high intensity, in-person training program in the art of recruiting.
Every profession has its training program. There are any number of programs for truck drivers, blackjack dealers, sales staff, medical transcriptionists, court reporters and others. Few, if any of them, learn their trade on the job. Recruiters, alas, almost always do. The few training programs tend to be e-learning or correspondence. Nothing wrong there, but only a very few offer basic recruiter training in a classroom environment.
That's the approach Recruiter
Academy has taken since its founding in 1997. It was one of the first structured and comprehensive education program for corporate
recruiters.
In the last decade the academy says it has worked with over 1400 companies in 42 states and 9
countries, including some of the largest companies in the
world.
From the first basic training workshops has come the Recruitment Operating System a metrics-based, continuous training program, including a nebie-focused boot camp. It also offers a Certified Recruiter Program, that is independent of other certification programs, including those offered by SHRM.
