In December 2004, Tempero joined forces with two trucking industry professionals, Martha Graves Reese and Mark Reese to launch RapidHire, LLC. Martha Graves Reese grew up working in the family-owned Graves Truck Line, which her grandfather started in the 1930s in Salina, Kansas. The Graves legacy continues today with many family members still influential in the trucking industry. Mark Reese worked in automotive and trucking software marketing for over 30 years.
Trucking is an industry on the forefront of the worker shortage. Just glance at the back of any company-owned trailer and you're as likely to see a recruiting pitch for drivers as you are a license plate. Speed of hire is as critical here as is quick delivery. But accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations is even more important. Thus RapidHire was the first ATS to incoporate a direct link to DAC Services, the private driving information services firm that tracks truck drivers. RapidHire claims it is so fast that a recruiter can check a DAC report while on the phone with a candidate, pre-qualifying them and making it possible to schedule an interview immediately.
