In its nearly 35 years in business, Nursefinders has had an impressive growth strategy, one which shows both the growing market for such a service and reflects the continued growth in the field of medical recruiting.
The core business is to offer healthcare staffing services for healthcare facilities nationwide and to place caregivers and nurses in people's homes. Through its franchise and company-owned operations, it provides personnel to more than 4,700 hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes.
The company was originally started in the Ft. Worth suburb of Arlington as a per diem nurse staffing provider. In 1986, it was purchased by Swiss-based Adia S.A. In 1992, it was combined with other U.S.-based operations to form Personnel Group of America and then became a wholly owned subsidiary of PGA; in 1998, the company was acquired in a management buyout led by Atlantic Medical Capital, L.P., a private investment company specializing in healthcare companies.
In 2005, Nursefinders expanded into the physician market when it acquired Linde Healthcare and Kendall & Davis (physician recruiting). In 2006 came the acquisition of Club Staffing, a leading provider of temporary allied health professionals.
Then in 2007, an investment group that includes the Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, Pharos Capital Group, LLC, and Haas Wheat & Partners acquired Nursefinders Inc. for $25 million. At that time, National Healthcare Staffing (an existing Goldman Sachs portfolio company) was combined with Nursefinders, creating a firm with 110 U.S. offices and one which is positioned in the four healthcare staffing sectors of: per diem nursing, travel nursing, allied health staffing, and physician staffing.News & Updates
