Founded in 2004 with an assessment and performance automation system, Navient launched its HiringNavigator ATS two years later. Right from the start, the company's focus has been on metric-driven recruitment and hiring, not surprising given founder Bob Sharron's background in the testing and assessment area. He and two of the other three team members listed on the company website hold doctorates in psychology. The CTO came from research firm Forrester.
What's different about Navient's recruitment technology is that it was designed from the ground up with testing and assessment in mind. Sure it's an ATS and does what all such systems need to, but the end-to-end solution includes online application forms, candidate pre-screening, selection assessments, and structured interview support. Additionally, it has an online interview training program for recruiters.
But Navient is not just a technology company. It also offers consulting services and executive assessment and coaching.
