Founded by some of the same people who founded BrassRing then sold it to Kenexa (profile; site), My Perfect Gig is an interesting blend of sourcing intelligence and candidate matching. Both work together to help recruiters and hiring managers negotiate the challenge of bringing expectations into alignment with reality.
The employer side of MyPerfectGig, branded SourceView, analyzes job reqs and can quickly tell a recruiter how many workers in the U.S. possess the whole package or parts. A click of a tab and the recruiter knows how many other employers are looking for the same candidates. A few more clicks lets the recruiter assemble a list of related skills or alternative skills.
Matches are made from My Perfect Gig's database.
The sourcing intelligence is compiled from government statistics and actual resume surveys. My Perfect Gig also scours corporate and commercial job boards to develop the list of who and where the same candidates are being sought.
Because of the sheer work involved in gathering the data, My Perfect Gig is tackling only one industry at a time. Currently it has computer manufacturing covered; before long medical devices will be added and related industries, then finance.
The young startup (it only came out of beta at the end of May, 2008 after launching in Oct. 2007) accepts candidates only by invitation, though for the right professionals those invitations aren't too difficult to get. My Perfect Gig is scheduled to launch a major advertising campaing, including direct email, inviting computer engineers to partcipate.
The company is funded by Northbridge Venture Partners and Commonwealth Capital Partners.

My Perfect Gig Job Matching Helps Separate the “Must Have†From The “Wish For†(ere)
They call it My Perfect Gig (profile; site ), but you may be tempted to think of it as My Best Gettable Candidate. You'll be forgiven if you do because after you strip away all the hype from all the matching sites that are sprouting like rainy season mushrooms, the matches they come up with and the candidates who get hired only occasionally fit every job spec to a T. SourceView
A sourcing intelligence tool that provides recruiters and hiring managers information on the availability of candidates with specific skills. The tool also provides competitive information on other companies seeking candidates with the same or similar skills and where they are looking. The company says SourceView gives recruiters and hiring managers a "common language."
