Microquest Corporation
Microquest is a 20-year-old research firm founded by Mark and Lorraine Ross that publishes two lines of sourcing directories identifying key business people at leading companies.
One set of directories, People in High Technology, lists workers from CEOs to staff-level engineers at some 2,300 tech firms in the U.S. The other called Shattering The Glass Ceiling, focuses on women and minority executives at the largest U.S. companies.
The IT directory got a thumbs up on an ERE discussion group in 2006 from a recuriter who said she "grew up in research using this tool."
The directories are supplemented by a separately priced monthly who's where and who's who report which include profiles, and hirings and firings.
The two directories are now offered only online. Annual subscriptions include weekly electronic update reports reflecting new research. Queriable, exportable, with 80 percent verified email addresses, the databases are compatible with CRM's. Includes "ethnicity" and "gender" fields. Price: $5,000 - 2 seats; $8,500 - 4 seats.
Around since 1989 when Microquest launched as a high tech newsletter, the Ross' began issuing the first of the directories in 1991. Lorraine Ross, co-founder and president, spent a decade as a recruiter and headhunter.
