This self-described "recruiting software industry icon" offers two software packages for staffing and recruiting professionals.
Bucking the trend toward Web-based software-as-a-service, Micro J sells Tempus Fugit, the staffing product, and PcHunter, the recruiting management system, as standalone software a user installs on their own computer. A
As the company says: "If you want it, you buy it, you own it, period."
But fear not that you will have to figure out how to install it and make it work all on your own. The purchase price - which we were unable to determine, but is evidently low enough that individual practitioners can afford to buy it - includes technical help in configuring either Tempus Fugit or PcHunter and getting it operational, plus a training program so you'll know how to use it.
PcHunter offers most of the tools a recruiter will need to search resumes and manage candidates. It enables a recruiter to create searches using multiple keywords and other variables and run it against a resident database of resumes. It integrates with MS Outlook for candidate contact. Functionally, it handles all the basics a sole practitioner or even a small corporate recruiting office would want. And it has a few nice touches, like a candidate summary line to help jog your memory about a specific candidate.
Tempus Fugit includes the PcHunter features, adding on tracking elements for your temp staffing assignments. It stores a complete hours history, assessment test results, assignment history and, of course, resume data for each worker on your roster. Additionally, it provides a business development capability, making it simple to reach out to companies fitting your profile.
The company website mentions PlaceAce, which it was to release in the spring of 2007. The announcement said it was agency management software but otherwise offered no details. And there is no other mention of it on the company site.

PcHunter
A basic tool set for independent recruiting professionals that is purchased and installed on the buyer's system. It can be networked in small offices, enabling recruiter teams to share the resume database and other functions. It provides all the recruitment and candidate management functions recruiters want and use most, including contact management and record notation and an ATS function. The company suggests PcHunter as a tool for corporate recruiters. -
Tempus Fugit
A module that connects to PcHunter or which can be bought as a complete system. The product is intended for staffing companies that need to manage incoming resumes and applications in standard ATS fashion, but also track and manage their temp worker roster. Tempus Fugit (Latin for "time flies") stores hours, work histories, skills assessments and scores and other data. It also has a business development tool set to enable agencies to drum up new business and accounts while staying in touch with existing customers. It also simplifies billing and payroll since it can export data to outsourced payroll systems or to an in-house billing system.
