Kenexa Corporation provides 360-degrees of service to companies when it comes to recruiting and retaining employees. One Wall Street analyst referred to the company as a "one stop shop" and indeed, this appears to be the company's strength. It is one of the best-known names in recruitment, having begun as a headhunter to the insurance industry in 1987. Six years after its founding, the company offered one of the first ATS products. That was in 1993 and soon after, Kenexa began acquiring other companies as it began moving into the full range of human capital management.
By 2000, after shedding its staffing business and buying up more than a dozen other companies, it officially changed its name from TalentPoint to Kenexa Corporation. The company struggled during the first years under its new name, suffering along with the U.S. national economy, It was forced to postpone an IPO, finally going public in June 2005 at $12.25 a share. In December 2007, analysts at KeyBanc Capital Markets rated the company with a "buy" rating. The 12-month target price is set to $24.
Kenexa's products include an applicant tracking system, testing and assessment solutions such as those offered by its ProveIt! division, employee management products, and outsourcing services to help firms in their hiring processes. As a result of the acquisitions of Webhire, Inc., Knowledge Workers, Gantz Wiley Research, Psychometric Services Ltd. and BrassRing in 2006, the company's client base reached approximately 3,000 companies, including approximately 166 companies on the Fortune 500 list. Only Half of All Workers Rate Leaders as Effective (Marketwire)
Research conducted by the Kenexa Research Institute says leaders globally are rated as having an average effectiveness of 51 percent. Brazilians rate their business leaders' effectiveness the highest at 69 percent. Japan, at 33 percent, had the lowest rating of leadership effectiveness.
According to the latest research, an organization's senior leadership team has a significant impact on its employees' overall opinions of the company and engagement levels, which have been linked to both earnings per share and total shareholder return. The data come from an analysis of the WorkTrends database, an annual survey of worker opinions conducted by KRI.

Kenexa Names Kevin Horigan as President of Global HR Technology (Marketwire)

Kenexa, global provider of talent management and retention solutions, ranked 363 on the Technology Fast 500, Deloitte LLP’s ranking of 500 of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.
Rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth during the five year period from 2004–2008. Kenexa grew 340 percent during this period. Kenexa was also ranked 17 in Deloitte’s 2009 Greater Philadelphia Fast 50.

Analyst Raises Target Price For Kenexa Stock (StreetInsider.com)
Little more than a week after Deutsche Bank downgraded Kenexa from a hold to a sell, Piper Jaffray reiterated its "overweight" rating of the stock. That means in the opinion of Piper Jaffray, Kenexa is a better value relative to other HR software tech firms.
The analyst recommendation also raised the target price for Kenexa from $9 a share to $15.
In the 30 days prior to this post, Kenexa's stock has been trading mostly in a range between $10 and $11.50 a share.
