From the country that brought the western world fine food and wine comes Joblux, a generalist jobsite for the luxury industry in the United Kingdom.
Sorry mate, the country with the fine food and wine is not Britain but France, where the Joblux International Network group of websites is based. So far, only the French and UK versions are online, though there's evidence of an eventual version for Russia and the U.S.
Perhaps as befits a job board for the high end fashion, jewelery, hospitality, design, beauty and real estate sectors, site traffic is low. On the other hand, it could be due to the meager job offerings of the site. The day we visited there were only 16 jobs online for all the UK. The French sister site had 37 listings. A sign of the times?
After posting this profile in November 2008 the company emailed us to say the number of jobs was now about 10 times what we initially found. And sure enough, the number had grown.
Either way, there is something more alluring about a job in fashion merchandising when it's in Paris than El Paso.
Posting an ad to the site is pricey; £295 for a single posting. That translates to about US $440 (as of late fall 2008).
The site also offers CV searching for £895.
