Founded in 2001 as a recruitment media company, JobDig has broadened its reach well beyond the job posting business. Today, JobDig offers an SaaS tracking system branded as JobDig Tracker, a jobs aggregator it calls LinkUp, free weekly jobs newspapers and partners with some broadcast and cable stations, and powers some job sites for media operators.

The company arressively mines opportunities. It may not be on the edge of the knife, but as others provide the proof of concept, JobDig gets on board. In the summer of 2009, the company added Facebook and iPhone applications that help integrate its three core businesses.

JobDig is the company's traditional job board. Employers can post jobs, but no resumes are collected or offered on the site. For broader reach, JobDig offers multimedia add-ons for print, TV and radio. Jobs are also redistributed through partnerships with sites like Indeed and SimplyHired.

LinkUp, launched in 2006, aggregates job postings from employer sites, but not other job boards. The service is free to job seekers and to employers. To improve visibility of any job, LinkUp offers premium placements on a pay-per-click basis. It also developed one of those nifty Facebook widgets that lets a client company post its jobs to its Facebook page.

JobDig Tracker, an over-the-web ATS for the SMB market, is an expensive, yet well developed system with all the functions recruiters need. Besides what you would expect -- job req management, candidate tracking, online jobs site -- it offers matching, ranking and a good library of reports, including EEO.

The entrepreneurial spirit must come from the company's chairman, G.L. Hoffman. He describes himself as "a serial entrepreneur and venture investor/operator/incubator/mentor. Two of his companies have traveled the entire success path from the garage to IPO."

Hoffman writes a blog, What Would Dad Say, has a self-help book for job seekers, Gruzzles for Fast Company, and blogs for US News and World Report.
