Incorporated in January 2005, Invenias Limited is headquartered in Reading, United Kingdom, with development in Prague, Czech Republic. The co-founders, David Grundy and Richard Harrison, each bring a specific set of skills: Grundy from the software end and Harrison from the recuitment/search sector.
Invenias is an applicant tracking system for corporate and staffing recruiters. It's a basic tool, built around Microsoft Office Outlook, and offered as an MS Business Office application. This means the user must have a PC and Microsoft Office must be the office application in use. Invenias is provided as desktop software accessing a remote, hosted database.
Why build a system this way? For one, it's quicker than building everything from scratch. Outlook comes with contact management and database functionality that can be leveraged by developers to create customized services. Plus, the infrastructure is fairly straightforward, again using Microsoft products. For the user, the advantage is that the tools will be immediately familiar, reducing the learning curve. Plus, with Microsoft forming the core, there's a whole community of developers building or enhancing tools and add-ons. But there are limitations, the biggest being that Microsoft has not designed the basic system for recruiters.News & Updates

Consists of desktop software and a centrally-hosted database that enables multiple users to connect and work online or offline, from any location. Delivered as a Microsoft Office Business Application (OBA). Add-on modules include a parser provided by partner Sovren. The cost is not cheap, about $190 per user at Feb. 2008 exchange rates.
