This assessment and testing technology provider has had more name changes than an adopted stray dog. Way back, before it was Inscape Software, before it was HR Alloy, it was Sand-Ho Software. As a young custom software house, Sand-Ho designed and built custom recruitment software. Out of that experience, Paul Blanchard, Sand-Ho's founder, launched HR Alloy providing assessment process technology specifically to RPO, assessment, and testing vendors and HR consulting firms
In the summer of 2008 HR Alloy became Inscape Software. The company press release explains: "The word inscape, which refers to 'the unique essence or inner nature of a person,' evokes
the company’s mission of helping organizations obtain a more complete profile of their job
applicants and candidates for promotion."
Inscape's QMS branded (qualification management system) platform enables HR professionals to tailor a testing and assessment process to the needs of individual clients, then inegrate the results with any talent management system. The QMS platform can also be used independently.
Inscape is a software-as-a-service company, which means no investment in technology or maintenance.
Over-the-Web service means providers can focus on developing and implementing assessment programs or incorporating 3rd-party testing services. Introduced in 2007, Virtual Simulation Authoring Plus gives users the ability to integrate voice and video content for more realistic job simulations. The company says its services can be deployed in a matter of hours and is sufficiently fast and nimble that it can accommodate high volumes and multiple tests, aggregating results and scores quickly.
As HR Alloy, Inscape got a $3 million equity investment in spring 2007 from Rho Canada and Garage Canada. The company said it would use the money to expand in the talent management area.

Inscape Software Secures $7 Million in Series B Funding (PRWeb)
Assessment vendor Inscape Software (formerly HR Alloy) announced today a $7 million series B funding led by Solidarity Fund QFL. Inscape got the funding earlier this summer, but just announced it today.
Solidarity Fund is a labor-sponsored investment fund dedicated to investing in the economic development of Quebec, where Inscape is headquartered. Series A investors Rho Canada Ventures, L.P., Rho Investment Partners Canada, L.P. ("Rho") and Garage Technology Ventures Canada L.P. ("Garage") also participated.
Inscape Software will use the funding to continue the development of its innovative software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps organizations author and deploy selection, employee development and succession assessment solutions.

HRAlloy Changes Name To Inscape Software (PRWeb)
HR Alloy Inc., provider of on-demand integrated assessment solutions, has changed its corporate name to Inscape Software Inc.
The company chose Inscape because it refers to "the unique essence or inner nature of a person" and thus "evokes the company's mission of helping organizations obtain a more complete profile of their job applicants and candidates for promotion."
