Recruiters love referrals, and H3, founded by former Monster.com president Hans Gieskes, has strode boldly into the social network scene offering anyone $10,000 for information leading to a hire.

You won't be using H3 to hire hourly workers; it's designed for the higher paid hires who might otherwise have to be sourced by a headhunter.

Like many of the other companies that are competing in the effort to reach the passive job seekers, H3 makes use of social networks. But its "ace in the hole" is the minimum $10,000 referral payout. As the company notes, that's the kind of money that gets people to take notice - and act.

H3's patented technology tracks every step in the referral process identifying the chain of referrers taking part in the hire. Three months after the hire is made, H3 pays the appropriate "finders fee" to everyone involved in the referral chain

In addition to the referral paid - not paid if no hire is made - H3 is paid $2,000, again nothing is paid if no hire is made or doesn't stay for 90 days. The only "for sure" cost is a $599 annual subscription.
