For awhile there, it looked like First Advantage was buying anything in the HR services sector that wasn't nailed down. Between 2005 and 2006, it snapped up 15 companies in this area to build its employer services segment.
Recruiternet, Inc. and TruStar Solutions, Inc. formed the hiring solutions group. Recruiternet, headquartered in Maine, was absorbed into First Advantage and became First Advantage Hiring Management Systems. TruStar became First Advantage Recruiting Solutions.
The HRM system is essentially Recruiternet's Projectix with some changes and refinements, of course. Projectix was a sophisticated ATS supporting both the hourly and salaried environments. These features remain, as does the global support and reporting capabilities of the system. User customization is expected and therefore anticipated including such fine details as setting date and time formats specific to the local cultural preferences.
As was the case with Recruiternet, the majority of clients are large and upper mid-sized companies. These are the companies with multiple units, a global presence, and the need to integrate elements such as proprietary assessment and testing tools, tax incentive programs, and background checks. Whether used as a hosted ASP or enterprise product, the HMS solution is not cheap; Recruiternet's average deal was between $50,000 and $80,000 for the first year.Products & Services

First Advantage HMS
A sophisticated ATS tool set for large and upper mid-sized companies that have a continuous hiring work flow and a need for a scalable solution that integrates with 3rd party and proprietary corporate systems. Companies with global reach will appreciate the multiple languages and cultural preferences options that accommodate both large and small differences among regions and locales. In addition to managing the in-flow of applicants and handling scheduling and contacts, the HMS also includes hourly and contingent workforce hiring feature sets. In ERE's 2006 ATS buyers guide, the Projectix system rated slightly below average for similar systems in its group. It had both its supporters and detractors who noted such issues as the reporting functions and some concern with the candidate searching.
