This company on Canada's west coast operates what may well be the largest assortment of engineering niche sites in the world. At last count there were at least 204 separate sites in the network, most of them geographically oriented such as EngineeringJobsInTrenton.com.
The to-the-point approach won't attract many passive jobseekers, but for those hunting for an engineering job the main site, where all the postings appear, the categories make it a snap to find jobs in a particular specialty. The day we looked there 1,516 posted jobs, none older than 60 days.
Traffic isn't especially high, but then it shouldn't be for a niche site. How many engineers are looking for a job in any particular month? Around 25,000 on EngineeringCentral.com, according to Compete.com. That ranks it the equal of any other engineering site and better than many.
And at $63 for a one time posting good for 60 days and which includes access to the resume database, it's a deal that worth a try.
Founder Bill Denham has an undergraduate degree in Agriculture and a Master's in Environmental Engineering, but he's never worked in either field. He launched Engineering Central while still in school in 1996 and has operated it since.
