This fast growing company is not in the recruiting business. Instead, they are the folks who help your hires realize that rosy potential you saw when you hired them. So what are they doing in a recruiting vendor directory? Two words: succession planning. OK compensation too, so three words. Or, maybe four when you figure in performance. Better add compensation and compliance.
Getting the picture? This is one of those companies that provides the SaaS programs to identify, rate, track, train and manage employees so you can retain and encourage top talent and help the rest to become top performers.
Cornerstone has something like 30,000 training program titles in its library and the flexibility to help companies assemble their own courses. That alone is impressive, but Cornerstone has evolved from purely a provider of training programs and services into a more rounded talent management company.
"Human Capitalist" writer Jason Corsello called Cornerstone "a vendor that has gone mostly under-the-radar in talent management but has probably done one of the best jobs of all the pure-play learning management vendors to become a “talent management suite” vendor."
We described Cornerstone as fast-growing and we mean it. Founded as CyberU, it changed its name in 2005 to reflect its expansion into the talent management arena. In Sept. 2007 it got an infusion of $32 million in capital from Bessemer Venture Partners and Bay Partners. That's funding the company's expansion into overseas markets and the opening of offices in Israel, France, Germany and the U.K. And at the rate the company adds vice presidents, it may need a few more dollars to build a larger conference room.
