This site, now a subsidiary of UK-based JobServe, focuses exclusively on connecting IT job seekers and consultants with IT recruiters in a wide range of industries in 20 major markets in the U.S. It offers single and bulk job posting and resume database searching for employers. It also offers the ability to direct email job ads, offers sponsorship of specific areas of the ComputerJobs.com site and employer branding ads.
From the perspective of the job seeker, the site is promoted as being simple to use. Job seekers are told to simply post their resume and the recruiters will come to them. In this sense, the site gives the feel of being more like a staffing agency; however, it is well-populated with jobs from major employers such as Amazon and Microsoft. The site is extremely basic and lacking in design, without the bells and whistles of larger sites such as Dice.com, a key competitor. In fact, the site design remains unchanged since its purchase by JobServe in 2006. JobServe, which also owns other IT niche sites and bought Canadian firm JobShark, is an $18.6 million company.
