BrightMove is an SaaS provider of applicant management and tracking software. The firm was born out of the need for staffing and recruitment agency-specific software by Brightmove's founders who, at the turn-of-the-century, were runing Hurff-Webb, a tech development agency and contract firm.
When they couldn't find an ATS that fit their needs, they built one.
In 2004 Brightmove was founded, operating alongside the tech services firm ArtisIT, that continues to this day.
Brightmove has grown beyond its staffing roots, today offering ATS services for corporate recruiters, a version specifically for RPOs and HR outsourcers and a free version of the ATS specifically for startups and young staffing firms.
There are two base products: Brightmove Standard, which contains virtually every feature a busy recruiter would want in an ATS; Brightmove Enterprise has every feature of the standard version with additional management components such as audit trails and custom HRIS integration. The free version, Brightmove Lite, is a stripped down Brightmove Standard.
Besides the tracking that marked the earliest iteration of the original program, today's BrightMove products include sourcing tools to search external resume sites and social networks. The system can manage job reqs and distribute them to multiple job boards as well as posting them on your own site. A parser automates the creation of candidate data files. A screening and assessments module enables you to ask your own qualifying questions or integrate with third party providers.
There are also front office modules for staffing firms to track sales force activity. A time management feature collects time cards and integrates with the commission manager to automatically calculate earnings.
The founders, James Hurff and David Webb, worked together as software developers at Oakscape on projects that included customized staffing software. They launched Hurff-Webb, Inc. as a contract IT service in 2001, changing the brand in 2007 to Artis IT.
