Berkshire Associates built its chops on affirmative action training. When Dawn Hyde founded the company in 1983 she first offered consulting on affirmative action program development. With programming help from her father, Donald Stauffer, she developed a computerized AAP planning tool dubbed GREATAAP.
Today, the product is BALANCEaap and it is just one of four technical products offered by Berkshire. The company also offers a basic, over-the-web ATS, salary equity software, and a Web-based tool companies use to run adverse impact analyses on their hiring practices.
The company hasn't ignored its consulting roots. It still offers a range of training programs and workshops focuing on affirmative action hiring and compliance and pay equity. Customized consulting services are also available.
