This is a curious site based on a clever concept. College students (and whoever, since anyone can claim to be a student) post their skills, job interests or work preferences. Employers, who tend to be individuals rather than businesses, can either find a student who meets their needs or post their job directly.
The jobs offered are mostly the casual worker type: babysitter, tutor, intern, retail and the like. Even so, there are enough career-focused jobs to make the site interesting.
Students get to post their "footprints" for free. Jobs cost $25 to post.
BarefootStudent.com is an outgrowth of a social network of the same name. That site seems to have stalled, but the job board appears to be still going strong. There were dozens of fresh postings on the site when we checked in December 2008.
When it debuted in 2007, Justin Metzger, one of the founders, likened it to Craigslist. He's kind of right. There are similarities, though BarefootStudent.com gets no where near the traffic of "the List." But like Craigslist, it's bulletin board styled, so it gets to the point.

Job Posting
Job postings specifically aimed at the college student market. Most postings are for casual labor and intermittent work like babysitting or pet care. However, there are enough career-oriented offerings (paid and unpaid internships) to create interest. Postings are $25 each and stay online for a year. They can be terminated earlier. No multi-post packages.
