Absolutely Health Care is the brand name for the healthcare/medical jobs board found at healthjobsusa.com.
Owned by CJ Ventures, which has several health-related job sites and a social network for healthcare, Absolutely Health Care is the only one of the sites where employers can post jobs. Listings are then reposted to other sites owned by CJ Ventures and redistributed to some 4,800 other locations.
Though it has all the trappings of a traditional job board, it's business model is geared to the bulk buyer rather than the single-job poster. You won't find a self-service, e-commerce posting tool. Instead, employers must send an email or call to set-up an account. The process requires an initial information gathering phone call and a second conversation to present a custom proposal.
In 2009, pricing ranged from a low of $2,000 to the tens of thousands, depending on the number of jobs and other services required.
The site itself is remarkably rich in resources for job seekers. It stands head and shoulders above many niche commercial sites in the value it offers job seekers, even if some of those services are lead generators.
Even so, traffic to the healthjobsusa.com site itself has been in decline since January 2009, when Compete.com reported it had almost 400,000 uniques. It could simply be a reflection of the times, though healthcare has been the only segment to consistently grow jobs during the recession. Nonetheless, the distribution network does significantly increase the reach.
Absolutely Health Care has garnered a number of awards, from a #1 ranking for health and medicine jobs in the U.S. News & World Report 2002 special issue “Where The Jobs Are" to three successive Weddle's User's Choice Awards.
In 2007, CJ Ventures launched Medical Mingle, a social site that has a fair level of activity.
