Absolutely Health Care is the brand name for the healthcare/medical jobs board that can also be found at healthjobsusa.com. Owned by CJ Ventures, which has dozens of geo-specific health-related job sites and a new social network for healthcare, Absolutely Health Care is the only site where employers can post jobs. The company then redistributes the listings across both its owned network and to other sites it doesn't own. Traffic to the healthjobsusa.com site itself is too low to be ranked in Alexa. However, by virtue of the network traffic, individual job postings can reach an audience numbering in the millions.
The company has garnered a number of awards, from a #1 ranking for health and medicine jobs in the U.S. News & World Report 2002 special issue “Where The Jobs Are" to two, successive Weddle's User's Choice Awards.
The site's visual presentation, however, belies its award-winning ways. The busy, blue on grid background and clunky search system seem more a relic of the early days of the Web, especially when compared to the slicker Medical Mingle social site CJ Ventures launched in 2007. The company tells us a facelift is coming in 2008 while also making the point that it is results, not how slick something looks, that matters.
And in that regard, Absolutely Health Care gets the job done. The site has thousands of jobs, ranging from medical clerical positions to physicians and hospital management. The site claims over 1,000 employers and clients and, to its credit, offers not merely blind testimonials, but the name, title and contact information for the recruiters and hiring managers quoted there.
