Survey Says: Economy Not Making Sourcing Any Easier Sep 25, 2008
Nearly half (48 percent) of human resource managers say that over the past year they have had to broaden the list of places they look for candidates in order to reach more job seekers, according to a survey sponsored by Personified, the talent management and consulting subsidiary of CareerBuilder.com.
In hopes of getting new talent in the door quicker, nearly a quarter (23 percent) of human resource managers say they have shortened the time from initial meeting to offer, and close to one-in-ten (8 percent) have removed steps from the application process.

Recruiter and recruitment researcher Qualigence, has cut its rates.“The idea behind our Stimulus Package is to provide all companies a cost-effective solution to the key roles they still need to fill in spite of the current economic conditions” said company founder Stephen Lowisz. “We know that helping large organizations to make hires will inevitably help the economy and we definitely support that.”
The Qualigence Stimulus Package now offers research rates at $80/hour, rather than the standard research rate of $100/hour. The company also offers a rate of $95/hour for passive candidate development and recruiting – the standard rate for this service at Qualigence is $115/hour. The standard rates at Qualigence had been in effect since the company’s founding in 1999.

Free contacts for job seekers? ZoomInfo is making that offer to job hunters in exchange for their business contacts.
There's no minimum number of contacts required and the offer is good for two months of service. You must use Outlook and download a plug-in that automatically transfers the addressbook to ZoomInfo. Microsoft Accelerates Candidate Sourcing Cycle Feb 2, 2010
eGrabber Inc., provider of automated Internet research tools, announced results of a recent trial conducted at Microsoft using eGrabber’s recently introduced LeadResearcher tool.
Marvin Smith, a talent sourcer for Microsoft, reported that within 24 hours of deploying LeadResearcher, MS received responses from 117 new applicants for a specific project from a pool of candidates that were short listed, but couldn't be easily contacted.
